Montano Nissotti is an independent advisor, focusing principally on risk management issues for family offices and private wealth managers, with over 30 years’ experience in financial markets and commodities.  Having completed his studies at Harvard, Montano joined the Treasury Division at JP Morgan & Co.

 

During his 17-year tenure at JP Morgan, Montano held various roles in Italy, New York and Singapore, including Head of Italian Government Bond Trading, Head of New York Foreign Exchange Trading, and Head of Markets Electronic Trading.  He spent seven years in the New York-based Markets Proprietary Trading team.  In 2002-03 Montano served as Director and Executive Committee Member on the Board of Euro-MTS, the European Government Debt Interdealer Broker.

 

In 2002 Montano left JP Morgan and moved to London, where he worked on a private hedge fund venture and additionally took on consulting assignments, advising organisations on their risk and asset management strategies. 

 

In 2007 Montano became CEO of the Blue Oil Group, an independent energy trader specialised in supply and distribution of oil distillates in Latin America, where he focused on corporate organization, risk management, finance and M&A.

 

In the summer of 2011 Montano left Blue Oil and moved to Switzerland and went back to working independently as a risk management consultant. Montano is an occasional contributor to Bernard Connolly’s Connolly Insights private research newsletter.
